Hello John -
Ferdy Belland here; you might remember me as the bassist for the Gentle Infidels (www.gentleinfidels.com), the acoustic-prog / art-folk trio (guitar, cello, bass) who played at the Garage a few years back. Not here right now to re-book the Gentle Infidels, but soon…
…I’m contacting you now in regards to my hard-rock / garage-punk band, the Belushis (www.myspace.com/thebelushis), who will be touring Vancouver Island during the upcoming Victoria Day Weekend. We’ve been active in the Vancouver scene since 2004; we’ve released two albums (2004′s “Rich in Broken Glass” and 2006′s “Thunderballs”), we’ve shared stages with such internationally-renowned hard rock acts as the Bellrays and Bad Wizard, and we pride ourselves not only on our lock-tight stage presence, but also our party-hearty rapport with our audiences. We light up a room with no negative downer moods. We have 2x60min sets of strong original material and (if you couldn’t find a suitable local act to fill the evening) we can suggest support acts if necessary.
We already have a show booked in Nanaimo @ Cambie Pub for Friday May 20th and are piecing together the rest of the weekend. We would like to play in your neck of the woods on Saturday May 21st, if possible. I’m intrigued with the Crofton Hotel and believe that might be most sensible venue for the Belushis, although in a pinch (if you thought it sound) we would of course be most happy to play the Garage Showroom.
